Hyderabad, 18 November 2025 – In a significant step toward bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, Emertxe Information Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly deliver advanced, technology-driven skill development programs for engineering students. The agreement was formalised at the JNTUH campus in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, and marks the beginning of a three-year collaboration aimed at strengthening India’s deep-tech talent pipeline.
The MoU was signed by Dr. K. Venkateswara Rao, Registrar, JNTUH, and Mr. Jayakumar Balasubramanian, Director, Emertxe, in the presence of Dr. T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, Vice Chancellor, JNTUH; Dr. Anitha Sheela Kancharla, Director, University Industry Interaction Cell (UIIC), JNTUH; and Mr. Mubeen Jukaku, Technology Head, Emertxe.
Under the partnership, the two institutions will collaborate on industry-aligned curriculum delivery, faculty development, internships, capstone projects, hackathons, and the proposed establishment of a Deep-Tech Center of Excellence (CoE). The collaboration spans high-demand domains including Embedded Systems, IoT, Robotics, AI-enabled Embedded Systems, and Industry 4.0 – areas central to India’s push toward becoming a global hub for advanced electronics and semiconductor design.
A Flagship CSR Initiative - Embedded Systems Course with Placement Support for Women Engineers
At the heart of the collaboration is a flagship CSR-funded Skill Development Program designed exclusively for women engineers from economically underprivileged backgrounds. Delivered by Emertxe in association with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), the 570+ hour immersive program will train selected JNTUH students in C/C++, Data Structures, Microcontrollers, Embedded Linux, RTOS, IoT, and AI-enabled embedded technologies – at zero cost to the participants.
Participants will gain hands-on lab experience, work on real-world projects, undergo continuous assessment, and receive joint certification from ESSCI and Emertxe upon completion. They will also gain access to placement support through Emertxe’s network of 1,500-plus hiring partners – giving them a direct pathway to embedded systems jobs for freshers at some of India’s most respected technology companies.
“This MoU is a strong reaffirmation of our commitment to industry-aligned education and inclusive skilling. By partnering with Emertxe, we are giving our students – and especially women engineers from underprivileged backgrounds – direct access to the kind of deep-tech training that today’s industry demands. Initiatives like this are what truly transform an engineering degree into a career.“
– Dr. T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, Vice Chancellor, JNTUH
Bridging Academia and Industry - Placement Training for Engineering Students from Early Semesters
A key design principle of this industry-academia collaboration in India is the ‘Start-Early’ philosophy. Rather than waiting until the final year to introduce students to industry, the MoU enables technology-relevant learning from early semesters onwards. Students at JNTUH will gain access to Emertxe’s online learning platform, masterclasses, workshops, and tech talks delivered by industry mentors.
The collaboration also opens up structured short-term and long-term internships, mandatory summer and winter industry internships, and live industry projects – all designed to give students working exposure to real engineering problems before they graduate. Faculty will benefit through dedicated Train-the-Trainer programs, joint curriculum modernisation, and certification pathways.
“The University Industry Interaction Cell has consistently worked toward building meaningful, outcome-driven partnerships. The collaboration with Emertxe stands out because it is structured, hands-on, and measurable. Our students will not just learn – they will build, intern, and emerge ready for the technology industry of tomorrow.“
– Dr. Anitha Sheela Kancharla, Director, UIIC, JNTUH
A Roadmap to Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship
Beyond classroom training and internships, the MoU envisions the establishment of a Deep-Tech Center of Excellence (CoE) at JNTUH focused on Embedded Systems, IoT, and Robotics. The CoE is intended to become a hub for joint research, student start-up incubation, and entrepreneurship development, with Emertxe providing lab setup guidance and industry mentorship.
The partnership directly supports the Government of India’s Skill India, Digital India, and Make in India missions by aligning university talent development with national priorities in advanced electronics, semiconductor design, AI, and IoT. Building a deep, skilled, and diverse engineering workforce is no longer optional – it is foundational.
Industry Perspective - Building Engineers Industry Actually Hires
Emertxe's Approach to Embedded Systems Training in India
“For over two decades, Emertxe has worked at the intersection of education and deep-tech industry. This MoU with JNTUH is an opportunity to take everything we have learned about creating job-ready engineers and embed it directly into a leading academic institution. Our shared goal is simple – every student who goes through these programs should walk into the industry with confidence, and every recruiter should walk out with the talent they need.“
– Mr. Jayakumar Balasubramanian, Director, Emertxe
“Embedded Systems, IoT, and AI at the edge are no longer niche – they power everything from automobiles to medical devices to smart factories. We are bringing the same hands-on labs, real microcontrollers, real codebases, and real industry projects to JNTUH students that we deliver to engineers at our 1,500-plus hiring partner companies. The learning will be rigorous, but the outcomes will be transformational.“
– Mr. Mubeen Jukaku, Technology Head, Emertxe
Opening the Door to Embedded Systems Jobs for Freshers
For thousands of JNTUH students – and the parents who have invested years of hope in their education – this partnership signals something simple but powerful: an engineering degree, paired with the right embedded systems training in India and the right industry exposure, can still be one of the most rewarding pathways in modern India.
The program’s built-in placement support through Emertxe’s 1,500-plus partner network ensures that learning does not stop at the classroom door – it extends all the way to a first job offer.
“Formalising this partnership today is the beginning of a structured, long-term engagement. The University looks forward to seeing the first cohorts of students benefit from the program – and especially the women engineers who will be supported through the CSR initiative.”
– Dr. K. Venkateswara Rao, Registrar, JNTUH
What Comes Next
Both institutions will now move into the implementation phase, with detailed annexures defining the rollout of each program – beginning with the CSR-funded skilling program for women engineers, followed by faculty development workshops, student bootcamps, and internship pipelines. The MoU is valid for an initial term of three years.
The partnership between Emertxe and JNTUH stands as one of the most structured and outcome-driven examples of industry-academia collaboration in India’s embedded systems and deep-tech space – and a clear signal that the gap between what universities teach and what industry needs is finally being bridged, deliberately and at scale.
