FAQ –M.Tech Internship Course

We are pretty sure you will have lot of questions before joining our Embedded Systems Course. Here are the frequently asked questions for your reference. In case you still have anything specific write to us at training@emertxe.com

Internship FAQ

Will you help me to prepare my internship/project reports?
Definitely. You will be assigned a mentor under whom you will be executing the project. The same mentor will also help you to create the necessary documentation (project reports, presentations etc…) by providing you with technical inputs and performing reviews. Similar to other activities mentors are here to support but the real work is expected out of you. Also note all the work you will do as a part of the internship will go through detailed review to ensure you meet our quality expectations. As an intern you are expected to address all review comments / feedback provided by mentors before getting the final presentation shared with your college. Please note certificate will be provided for internship only when you meet our quality expectations.
What kind of support I get during my internship project work?
During your internship period you will be closely working with our mentors who are technical experts in a particular domain. Initially they will equip you with necessary knowledge in terms of class-room sessions, practical hands-on exercise and assignments. During your project work they will provide you with project description and support in clarifying your doubts and helping in debugging. While our mentors are here to support, the real work is expected from you in terms of coming out with necessary output as expected. There is a stringent evaluation mechanism for each items mentioned above, which you need to follow in order to complete you internship.
What kind of projects I will be provided under internship?
Internship projects will be based on Linux platform which will be exposing you to some element of embedded system like Security, Media, Command line etc. Please note these projects are still based on Desktop / PC only as you are not yet equipped to handle any board based embedded platforms. The main goal of the internship project is to equip yourself to handle the final year project, which will be PIC / ARM / Atmel based processors / controllers.
How much time I need to spend daily during my internship?
It is a full time internship where you are supposed to spend whole 8 hours in our premises. In the initial times you are expected to work in our hands-on exercise, assignments and projects. During the same time our mentors will be assigning you with internship project by providing the System Requirement Specifications (SRS). Interns are supposed to break this SRS into high level design, low-level design and proceed towards coding and testing. Such activities require significant amount of time to be spent.
Why should I skill myself before starting on internship project?
In our experience we have observed that many M.Tech students want to do project directly in a specific area (ex: IoT). However they will be significantly lacking in logical / analytical skills which is critical to work on project and eventually become an Embedded systems design engineer. Hence we have custom designed his program where during the initial 3 months students will spend time in up-skilling themselves by understanding Open Source Linux, Command ecosystem, Shell scripting, Embedded C programming aspects before taking up the project. This approach not only helps M.Tech students to do their final project but also helps significantly in their employment possibilities. Our past results speak for this approach.

Placements FAQ

What does resume & interview preparation workshops mean?
Resume plays a very important role to project your skills to potential employers. While shortlisting, employers look for some specific information in your resume, which normally a fresh engineer will not be able to provide due to lack of skills. In our case we will be providing you with a workshop where our expert mentors help you to write the resume in a professional format as expected by companies. These resumes will also be reviewed by our experts thereby making it really impressive. Please refer to our resume preparation workshop material to get a view of what this workshop is all about.

Similar to resume preparation workshop facing interviews is not an easy item for fresher. Typically companies take multiple rounds of technical interviews followed by HR / Management interviews where they will be checking different aspects like your technical capability, communication skills, team-work, logical/analytical skills etc. While these skills are built during your training, internship and project phases, it becomes equally important to communicate these aspects. Our interview workshops are designed to take care of these aspects where you will be able to face interviews more confidently and improve your employment chances. In the past experience we have seen these workshops making a huge difference to our students.
