Emertxe has developed a Linux based device driver Learner kit (LD3K) for embedded systems engineers to learn the concepts of device driver programming quickly.
The Linux Device Driver starter's kit is a Shift Register based USB-powered LED Control Device, controlled through your desktop's Serial Port. Because of its simplistic serial interface, even a non-hardware engineer could easily "device program" it, without bothering too much about the hardware details.
Kit contains the following:
+ Serial Cable for interfacing with the Desktop
+ USB Cable to power the device
+ Linux Device Driver Development Kit CD
